About:

After years of teaching in different types of intuitions such as Montessori, Waldorf, New York State schools and implementing a variety of educational curriculums, I decided to incorporate a propitious multifaceted curriculum that is equitable for students.  AprendewithM was created after experiencing discrepancies within educational institutions, in which curriculum expectations were not equitable. AprendewithM defines an equitable education as an education that suits students' individual needs not just the children at risk, performing on grade level or gifted and talented students.

Educational Journey:

As an educator, focusing on teaching a certain group of students is detrimental to the diverse learning styles of all of the students. I experienced these limitations as students were limited to group settings/learning experiences in which the students were grouped by levels of “intelligence.” I noticed that students did not have the opportunity to flourish developmentally. Therefore, I decided to research and incorporate methodologies that are diverse and incorporate a multifaceted curriculum. Through formal and informal assessments, I identified the benefits of this multifaceted curriculum. The students' demonstrated empathy. Students' demeanor/engagement in their learning was closing the gaps and limitations of certain group settings. This allowed students to learn from each other through social, language and cognitive educational experiences. The students conveyed respect for each other’s strengths and weaknesses. This endorsed me to both support all students' needs and enrich their learning at the same time. The students were able to reach their full potential through inquiry learning using various renounced curriculums.   I believe that as educators we must scaffold and push students to grow based on their unique abilities in an equitable educational curriculum.

These past years, I have continued my research on the best methodologies/ practices in different countries, school settings and private practices. I taught in Mexico, El Salavdor, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and other countries in private and public institutions, homeschooling as well as in-person /online tutoring/teaching. These international enriching experiences have opened new ways of approaching developmental areas to best suit a wide range of learning.

As returning to the United States and speaking to students, parents, educators and institutional members about their experiences with online teaching during Covid19, I am committed to providing the best online educational teaching through multifaceted learning, implementing various curriculums and educational philosophies.

Many students are at a disadvantage due to Covid19. However, the support that we as educators can provide should not be limited to worksheets and repetitive teaching. As concerns in parents arise and teachers elaborate on the constraints of online teaching I believe that I can facilitate and help students regain their love of learning and language, cognitive, emotional and social development while also supporting parents to be creative as they reinforce the learning at home. This will impact the overall students’ future growth and confidence as things settle back.
